I wouldn't call it a hostile environment. If it's anything like UT-Martin, you'll have, what, 20,000 people there?

Well then you'd be in the minority, FWIW.

If by 20,000 you meant 85,365.

Dooley Afraid of Hostile Environment
where in the article did it say that?

quote:
"The other team comes in and doesn't play well, because they're affected by the helmet, and the environment, and the band, and the atmosphere, and you've got good players and they're hitting you and stinging you" he said. "If we can just maintain a little bit of a calm and clear head and go out and execute the little things, that's all I'll care about.
Sounds like fear to me

The only sentence where the phrase "hostile environment" was used was this one:
quote:
But playing in a hostile environment sends the degree of difficulty through the roof.

I know a lot of people, they'll play loud music during practice, and I end up just getting a headache," he said. "I don't think you can prepare for it. We're going to work on some silent stuff, and there are some things you can do in practice, but at the end of the day it's an ability to eliminate all conflict in your mind -- being calm in the midst of chaos, because that's what it is."
He's obviously not going to say "im scared"

Nah, I think that you're taking it out of context and trying to read fear into it.
eta - he's speaking on his past experience of being on the other side at LSU and seeing how a crowd, stadium, and everything that goes into it can affect these small schools that come in. I don't see anywhere where that reads that he's fearing anything.

again, where does this statement read in any fear. it talks about being able to drown out distraction and stay focused. stay calm, don't get rushed, don't get out of sync cause of what's going on around you.
