That's easy. It's called a conditioned human response (on a massive scale) resulting from an operant called negative reinforcement, i.e., removal of an aversive stimuli (that's Hootie) in order to facilitate a desired response, i.e., renewed belief that we can be better than our previously confined and restrained, Hootie-defined potential. It puts us in a state of renewed spirit, hope, and joy...kind of like one would feel after getting out of prison and getting rid of the ball and chain one carried around the whole time they were there.

So you're saying BP isn't all that great. That your love for him is just because he is different?
