I recommend your first stop being O'Brannon's (or something like that) oyster bar on bourbon....if you like oysters of course........they have many fine bourbon's and it's a nice place so go there first.....you won't want to go there after your sloppy.....strip joint's i have no idea i don't remember what any of them are really like when i've gone in them

You want to stay at the Royal Sonesta in one of the rooms that overlooks Bourbon with a balcony.
I'd go to Ricks Cab. Its is the nicest place down there but you will pay for it...they also have a lunch buffet during the week.
If you are going to be eating close to the Quarter I'd go for Brennan's, GW Fins, Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse, Redfish Grill, or Broussard's. Check out their websites and see what would best fit your group.
I recommend posting up at Pat O's in the Piano Bar just before the sun goes down and before it gets too crowded. Throw back a red drink (hurricane) and get them to play the UF fight song.

I promise you... this is what you want to do.
Rick's Cabaret - Only one acceptable answer.
Restaurants
1. Galatoires - it's the best restaurant in the city and next door to Ricks on Bourbon
2. The Rib Room - In the Omni Royal Orleans very near Ricks. Perfect man food
3. Mr. B's Bistro - Delicious, close to everything as well.
4. Palace Cafe - Another great option right in the action. Convenient if you are staying on Canal
5. Dickie Brennan's Steak House - Best steaks in New Orleans, in the middle of the action in the French Quarter.
I put these in order but all are more than suitable. This is the only way to go. Do not fail me.

I agree about the Royal Sonesta, or its sister hotel the Chateau Sonesta on Iberville. Its very nice and a lot cheaper (at least it was when I was there.)

Visions is great but it's in a very scary part of the city. Es[pecially now. Ricks is the place to go if you have the money. Otherwise, Temptations, or the other 10 or so will do. This is a good plan if you have the means - Hit LaBoca for Steaks on fulton Street. Walk down to Rockin Sake for some Sake bombs. continue down Fulton to Ruth's Chris for a coctail. Cross the street to the Casino for an hour of Gaming. Get the boys and head down to the Old Absenth House for some more drinks. Go to the Strip Clubs Tanked and ready to forget where the hell you are. Hopefully you'll have a buddy system s nobody gets robbed.

Are you staying in the Quarter on Bourbon, the Business District, Uptown, or what?
