Why no one should take too much stock in the whole Houston Nutt cell phone scandal.

I'm on record on several different boards as saying I think the group of fans that did this sort of the thing were stupid, childish, and went overboard; BUT in the case of Houston Nutt's cell phone, it was bought and paid for by the The University of Arkansas, making it and all conversations made on it public and not private. 2 months after these conversations were made public the Razorback Foundation took over paying for the Arkansas coaches cell phones effectively making them private communications rather than public, why this took so long to do is beyond me.

It doesn't mean anything until you consider that Nutt used the media to call out people who suggested he was interested in Miami as "spreading rumors" and said there was "no truth" to it and said he didn't know how he got attached to that job.
He's a liar.
And the reason somebody was interested in Nutt's phone records in the first place, Mitch Mustain getting harrased via email by a booster, and good friend of Nutt's, was to see if Nutt was involved.

I realize Ole Miss fans and other fans find all that pretty hard to believe.
It seems pretty ridiculous to think that an NCAA head football coach could be so petty as to do stuff like arrange for harrasment of his own players.
There's a lot about it that seems ridiculous.

Yeah I remember that he was selling the Miami thing as only rumors and hear say all the while that actually went down. Notice how a crap infested program such as Miami did not even give the Nutt a bite and I am sure at that point he was doing all he could to land that job.
I will say it here and right now I am on the bandwagon that if we do not beat Nutt this year it will be our last chance since he will be gone with anything better than 8 or 9 wins at Ole Mississippi this year. We better hope Petrino smokes his team this year since we probably will not be seeing ole Hootie for a while.
