What happened that made Grant not go to LSU. I read somewhere he was seriously considering going to LSU but that your AD did or said something he didn't necessarily like. Anyone know what happened?

He knew if he waited one more year he could interview for the Bama job, turn around and take the UF job and give lsuin09 something to book

Because our offer went to Johnson, not Grant. New AD fell in love with Johnson after meeting him.

honestly, I think through feelers Grant never was that interested in LSU and while LSU did approach him,I don't think LSU was real upset.With that said,I do think basically it would have been his had he pursued it.
Supposedly one guy ,through his 'people',who contacted LSU was Miami's Frank Haith.He's been someone I have felt would get mentioned in the Alabama picture eventually.
"Elleshoe" may know more than me. He was Grant's biggest supporter here last Spring.

I just got here this past weekend, but I put in for transfer a few weeks back. I got a call yesterday asking if I wanted BHM or Chicago, so it looks like I may be moving back to S'ville. I hope so, I only got to 2 Bama games last season.

he was on LSU's list, but i do not believe that the job was offered. that said - i liked him , but am glad that we got the coach we now have

Corporate is in AL, so I have spent so much time looking at itinerary screens at airports, I guess it stuck with me
