Atl and Georgia statewide has loads of players, but as you say, the elite cherrypicker hoops school programs(many relatively close by in that region) raid it, and there seems to be the same level of somewhat fandom indifference in Athens as there is in BR at times, which must frustrate yourself, Durham, Dominqiue, Vern,etc..

Despite everything this 2008-'09 LSU team has done, it has 500 seats left as of an hour ago for tonight's senior night. 'Twas no different with the 2000-'01 Sweet 16 team and 2005-'06 Final Four team. Pitiful fans!

Yeah, it is a tad rough, the whole Donnan mess really killed any momentum (the team that was suspended from the tourney was actually damn good...the hayes brothers, etc). If we could get another Jumaine Jones, Alec Kessler types with a few other pieces, we could start to try to pry the lid off...but just like Atlanta fans about sports, UGA hoops supporters need a winner to show up...which is not helpful for getting those types of players.

I agree about the fans. But if you look at rivals.

A Georgia School only kept one of the top ten in state. If a guy like Capel or Grant from VCU, comes in and shows that he is willing to build a program, Georgia could compete in the SEC East. But the problem is they will have to shell out some cash to get a big name coach. But Georgia and Georgia Tech must focus on keeping the kids in state. Four five-star recruits going out of state is ridiculous.
