I keep seeing this kid's name pop in other places about players that are standing out in spring practice. Some of the veterans are talking about him too as looking pretty good amongst the true freshmen. He wasn't ranked very high as an OG in highschool and only a 3 star player but once again, ol Kirby seems to find these diamonds in the rough.
Am I remembering correctly that this is the kid that was diagnosed with Crohn's disease?

Yes. That’s him. Was trending as a good prospect as a hs freshman and then had the illness. Apparently lost like 70 pounds because of it and had to adjust his diet or meds or whatever Chrohn’s requires to be able to put the weight back on which took his Sophmore and some junior year to do I think

Coach Donnan has been a Helton evengelist for months now and now The Film Guy is all in too.
Helton took over the state championship game playing on defense getting after the quarterback. It was one of the damndest things I've ever seen.

Against Grayson he was throwing players around like rag dolls, and these were really large young men too. Matt Stewart and Wayne Gandy's commentary was priceless. He did all of this while playing both ways.
