My alma mater Oxford has a case for being the best team in the state this year. They lost to only one in-state school, beat Hoover, beat 4A state champion Fairfield, 4A finalist Ashville, Gadsden City, and Saraland by 15 in the state semi-finals.
And they beat Cullman in the 6A state finals 68-44.

Between County High and Bryant High in 6A, Tuscaloosa county becoming a bit of a basketball county. Makes sense, Tuscaloosa’s talent is spread too thin for football. City and county systems, the city has 3 high schools when they probably should have 2 max or just go back to super central setup with separate campuses. The county is large so there two 6As and 3 4A schools plus damn near the smallest 7A in the state most years.

County High was baseball state champs and softball state runner up last year and now basketball state champs. The baseball and softball teams are winning again this year also, but we only won one game in football.

Quite impressive. They are beating teams that have a significant talent advantage on paper (multiple D1/P5 commits).

Super Sports, I think a local company, did 300 tshirts for everyone to wear to the game, they may print some championship shirts
