Tomorrow will be a doubleheader to try to dodge the weather.

A DP. Hit right into the shift. Good play by Brandon McCraine. Runner advances to third. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think that’s only the second DP of the year for us.

Has there been a stat change on first and third situations?
All my life when a runner “steals” 2nd in those situations and the catcher doesn’t attempt to get him out it’s always been ruled not a steal but marked as defensive indifference? Guess I need to do a google search

I’m not sure. Judgement call for the scorer. Think it has to do with whether or not the potential run will “impact” the game.
That’s pretty nebulous.

Guevara Ks. Bub puts a charge into one but it gets down quickly and ends up being a long single. McCraine goes up 3-0 and the ump’s zone suddenly loosens up. Ends up being a fly out to right. Bub steals second and we’re threatening again. Steele flies out to end the first.
