Cooper Ranvier played in Lexington, went to Louisville, and now has transferred to Tennessee. Max Gilbert left the Vols for Arkansas. But it was Ranvier who had a little extra to say. After committing to the Vols, he took a little shot at Kentucky on the way to Knoxville.

"I grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, and I was an SEC kid," Ranvier told VolQuest. "Always disliked Kentucky anyway. So, I just want to be back in the SEC and always love the program."

Well, Cooper, Kentucky, didn't offer you a scholarship, and that probably made you a little angry. But the Cats had a kicker, and you found a home in Louisville. No one worried about it; you did well for yourself, and Kentucky now has Jacob Kauwe. But you couldn't leave well enough alone. You took your shot at Kentucky, but you also cost Louisville a huge game against Clemson.

Halfway through the 2nd quarter against the Tigers, Louisville scored, and Ranvier missed the extra point. But he wasn't done there. He missed a go-ahead 50-yarder in the 4th and then was replaced because of his misses. But that field goal kicker, Nick Keller. missed too, and the Cards lost at home to the Tigers.

So instead of worrying about Kentucky, you may just want to go ahead and worry about making some kicks in that gaudy orange travesty you will be wearing next year. Miss one in Knoxville and you won't have to worry about the 10 Louisville fans that show up and cheer; it will be tens of thousands of Vol fans raining down boos. No pressure or anything.

Wildcat Blue Nation writer is butthurt

I will add that I am not crazy about signing this Ranvier kid. I think he is another Max Gilbert.

He played HS ball at Douglass. Best public school program here in Lexington. We always get their top guys. Ty Bryant and Dane Key are two examples.

Ranvier wasn't good enough and we didn't go after him. Pretty simple. He's jilted and salty and that's why he's ended up playing for our two most hated rivals, UofL and UT.

Not much to see here.

Like I stated in the OP, I'm not crazy about signing him. Another Max Gilbert.

I think it is funny how offended this writer is over a kid "not good enough" to play for UK.

Tennessee can leave their kicker and Qb at home, and still beat Kentucky.

Y'all are a tune up for the bowl game.
