Does Indiana's dominance of three P5s and the B10 bottom elevate it to GOAT Status?

Besides beating powerhouses ODU, Kennesaw St, and Indiana St, six of Indiana's nine victories in B10 play was against the bottom seven teams in the conference, of which only one, Penn St, had a winning record. Being dominant against a bunch of patsies doesn't elevate you into the GOAT discussion. Let it rest.

The extra games of post season elevates them.

They had a bye, then played a cream puff and beat them worse than JMU and Tulane got beat in road games.

I don't know why people are jizzing over the victory against Oregon. They get whooped every year in the playoffs.

It’s over low mostly to get a rise out of the LSU fans on here. I get it. They are a legitimately great team though. Although if Miami beats them no one will care about them

I like this Indiana story as much as anyone. But come on, stop.

Its one year. Gary Barnett got Northwestern to the Rose Bowl back in the day. Couldn't sustain it. Lets see what Cignetti can do.

This talk about Best Season Every crap that LSU fans want to drive ? Don't care. And that team isn't even my "Best Team One Season" pick.

Give me '95 Nebraska.

Beat by 38pts in the playoffs last year and 34pts this year. Oregon football may want to see someone for PE.

GOAT status is always hard to determine.

I mean:

2019 LSU
2020 Alabama
2025 Indiana
could all make a claim and there is not a single person who could say definitively they were not. And we could argue a few other teams.

I'll never understand the constant insistence that any team is the greatest of all time. It doesn't make any of them any better than they were nor any worse. LSU and Alabama both won the National Championship and were great teams. Indiana might join them....we'll see.

I remember LSU fans taking digs at Alabama fans about LSU and Georgia being the only teams to win 15 games in a single season. Indiana might be the only team to ever win 16 games in a season.

I really liked Alabama '92. All eleven on the defense played in the NFL.

Wow! I didn't realize that. There are a ton of teams that people could make an argument for. Some of the Nebraska teams, for instance.

I mean, if fans want to claim their team was the GOAT, go ahead. It just seems silly. (I guess if a Georgia team was in the conversation I might like it....but... )

We didn't really play a tough enough schedule to qualify for GOAT status, and we didn't blow out teams the way a 95 Nebraska did.
