Love it

Any playoff game is better than a meaningless bowl game

Honestly, I think the addition of some type of wild card game would solve alot of issues...

This year could have been Notre Dame vs. James Madison for that last spot

Stop with the 16 teams. 8 is plenty. Nobody outside of 6 is ever winning.

Never should have gone to 12. Make it 8 with the top 8 making it. Use the BCS to determine rankings and play the first round on campus then go to bowls. Losers of 1st round also match up bowls as well so they get a bowl experience.

Theoretical: With #1 getting a bye, they'll almost always be a P4 conference champ.

So to give the next 4 highest rated conference champs home games it's very possible you'll be giving a playoff home game to an unranked G5 conference champ.

You good with that?

Maybe most of the time, but not necessarily...

And no, if the top team is a conference champ with a bye, then its the next 3 champs.

Tulane would get homefield in this example because the ACC flubbed their tiebreakers and Duke won

In this example, the G5 champ would almost always have to play in the wild card play-in game

it won't be getting smaller...the toothpaste is out of the bottle

Let's either tweak what we have, or expand a bit to make sure all the right teams are covered
