Love it when the national anthem is performed straight and not made about who is singing.

Got treated to the Air Force band around this time in NY one year. They were amazing.

Should be there next year. If I’m lucky I even get a game worn Army Jersey. I was pretty pissed on the way the game ended. The last navy touchdown was 4th and goal from the 12 and army ran two QB spy’s. I’d have surely gone buckle there and threw an extra safety over the middle in zone. Oh well. I will say this, I had about a 25 minute conversation with coach Monken. It’s hard to not buy in with that guy.

The tradition and pagentry are unmatched. College football is evolving in front of us as it becomes the NFL Minor League. Army Navy has everything that makes CFB the greatest sport on earth.

You could just tell the way the ball bounced it was Navys night. They should have had multiple turnovers but the ball bounced right back into their arms.

It was so frustrating. It is; outside of bama the game I’m most excited for every year. Now that I have skin in the game; it means a lot more. Love everything about West Point; which I’m sure Annapolis is just as special.

As much money as the US wastes in the Pentagon, I wouldn't mind spending 100M a year to make the service academies competitive with NIL. Tell a kid sign with Army, make $350,000 a year, play for 4 years and leave an officer and a West Point graduate. May not get the 5 stars, but you will get lots of highly motivated 3 stars. By year 3, Notre Dame won't want to play them every season.

The problem the service academies have are the height and weight restrictions, BMI, etc.

They can't roll out 330lb guys on the LOS because they won't make tape more than likely.

This is actually not true. While they are playing; the linemen don’t actually have those restrictions. As a matter of fact it’s the opposite. So when you walk in to chow hall; you will see the first tables by the door are for the football players. Linemen have 3x on each of their tables. Essentially if normal cadets get a steak, roll and baked potato; the line get three of each. I can speak from first hand account. Those dudes are literal monsters. The difference is, if you see a guy in the sec with the chance Womack going on; that guy at west point is built more like a power lifter. All in all, there isn’t a dude in that team I’d want to wake up to standing over my bed in the dark with green lit eyes from NODs; and that’s exactly what a lot of bad dudes will be seeing.

Interesting. I always figured the reason why they were lighter than most teams was because of height and weight. I assumed they relaxed those restrictions during the season but out of season they would have to make the BMI measure so they couldn't really stay too bulky.

That isn’t the way I understand it. Now the recruit I was with is a skill guy, so
Maybe they left some of those details out. I will say this. I’ve been going to Tuscaloosa since 97 and seen a lot of monster humans. #99 from Army looks like a super human. He had a massive sack yesterday taking on 2 blockers and putting both in the lap of the QB. He is a sophomore, and if he wasn’t on Army,
He would get massive love from NFL scouts. He is a specimen.

No doubt, that dude was absolutely a beast yesterday. I loved that sack he got...probably as good of an individual effort from a linemen you'll see.
