Yeah but let’s be real…you were literally gifted 7 points and Bernard dropped a sure TD as well. 21-14 was very close the being the result. Had a couple of other glaring drops and razor thin margins missing some first downs on some drives too. Point is a little cleaning up of things and that’s a lot different result. That can be done as well as getting healthy. There’s not a huge talent gap that can’t be overcome.

Correct, it was. Just like Saban in his first year…lost 6 games. I pointed out to folks that all 6 losses were by 7 or less. If he got a couple of more playmakers watch out, in 2008 he did and they went undefeated. There were minor things needed to get the ship uprighted…same here. Bama has the talent. They beat UGA on your own turf. Just keep in mind what I’m saying here, don’t crow too much.

How?

I mean, I was shocked by the game, personally and very happy how our team performed.

But...how were we gifted 7 points?

If you thought "a little cleaning up" would produce a different result, then we watched a different game.

Bro they handed you the ball on the 12 yard line after questionably going for it on 4th down from there which hardly any football savvy person would have done with 8+ mins left down by just two scores.

I couldn't believe they did that, either. But ask yourself this. Why do you think your coach thought that was the best play to make?

Either he is an idiot, or we were dominating Alabama so badly he felt that he could not score twice on us in the 8 1/2 minutes left in the game. We were 14 up at that point.

It's going to take more than "a little cleaning up" to beat us if we face each other again. Can it be done. Yes. But the game was so lopsided your coach did not believe your team could score 14 points in almost 9 minutes of game time left.

ETA
I can only believe that you do not believe that Deboer is a "football savvy person" from your post?

No not at all. DeBoer, just like any high level coach has more football knowledge in his pinky than do you or I but obviously he got caught up in the moment and had reason to believe that was the correct call. But that was a whim apparently and things like that probably won’t happen again anytime soon, so yes a few minor tweaks will fix a lot of the issues going on. It’s not needing to truck in a whole bunch more personnel…these things can be fixed.

If he made a call that "hardly any football savvy person would have done" then I would say Alabama is paying him way too much.

Sure. I would think a football savvy head football coach making $10, 250,000 a year plus incentives would have made those minor tweaks after the Vanderbilt and FSU games.
