On this day the Auburn Tigers came into Bryant-Denny Stadium and defeated Alabama 9-0 in the first Iron Bowl to be played in Tuscaloosa since 1901.

This was the last time the Alabama Crimson Tide was shutout.

A friend of mine told me that was the day he painfully learned the difference between waterproof and water resistant. (Sleeted the whole game)

My twin brother was crying to leave. I was crying to stay. When Auburn went up 9-0, we headed for the exits. It was really damn cold and wet.
