Notre Dame’s opponents’ combined W-L is 61-65

Historically weakest resume for a CFP team to date. The Paper Tiger Aggy is doing some heavy lifting in that record count too. Why are they getting the nod?

National brand with a 100 year legacy. People will watch. Money is the driving force yet again.

Because 1939 is a long time ago and the committee feels bad for them.

Not really anymore. The younger rust belt Catholics have focused more on their state schools now. The older ones have died off.

Notre Dame had similar struggles to Texas early in the season. They had weeks to find themselves playing the likes of Boston College, Boise State, Purdue, etc. Texas had to go on the road for six weeks in the SEC to figure out their short comings.

As an Irish catholic whose father nearly missed my birth to attend a game in south bend back in ‘93, I have grown up watching ND every Saturday and now as a graduate of OU I can tell you not many have much more disdain for ND than me. To your point, the old guard is waning and the kids are into their own schools
