Many people widely regard Brady as one of the top playcallers in the NFL. Last year, he had the opportunity to land a head coaching position, particularly with the New Orleans Saints expressing interest. However, he chose not to take on that role.
Now Brady might have a chance to take a head coaching job in the state of Louisiana, but not in the NFL.
Joe Brady Predicted to Land Top College Football Job
Two weeks ago, LSU parted ways with its head coach, Brian Kelly, and USA Today’s Paul Myerberg predicted Brady to land the Tigers‘ head coaching job.
“On one hand, you have one of the premier positions in the Power Four: LSU offers resources, a seemingly never-ending supply of local talent, and the chance to quickly compete for national championships,” Myerberg wrote on Thursday. “On the other hand, you have a governor who has decided to insert himself into this search and a new athletics director, Verge Ausberry, after Scott Woodwardâ??s recent resignation. Despite the programâ??s massive appeal, the changes in the athletics department are a concern.
“Brady has been mentioned as a candidate at Penn State, where he once served as a graduate assistant. But he has deeper links to LSU, where he famously helped develop one of the top offenses in college football history during the Tigersâ?? unbeaten 2019 season. These connections and the programâ??s desire to overhaul a woeful offense have moved Brady up the list.”
Brady already had a role at LSU back in 2019 as the passing game coordinator and receivers coach. Although Brady was only there for that season, many fans consider him a school legend.
The Tigers finished the season with a perfect 15-0 record and secured the national championship. Brady played a crucial role in helping quarterback Joe Burrow evolve into one of the best players in the game, guiding him towards winning the Heisman Trophy and ultimately becoming the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Brady Will Have to Beat Out Lane Kiffin For The Job
If Brady is aiming for the LSU head coaching position, he may need to fend off competition from Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin. Kiffin has guided the Rebels to an impressive 9-1 start this season and has emerged as the leading candidate for a top college coaching job this offseason.
When considering potential destinations for Kiffin, two schools stand out: LSU and the University of Florida. Myerberg believes that Kiffin is the prime candidate for the head coaching position at LSU.
“Kiffin is the Tigersâ?? top option. In fact, you might make the case that Brian Kellyâ??s midseason dismissal was heavily influenced by the desire to leap into the Kiffin sweepstakes and undercut rival Florida,” Myerberg added. “At this point, though, Kiffin seems more likely to land in Gainesville.”
It will be interesting to see if Brady wants to make a jump back to college football next season and if LSU is the job for him.

Isn’t the rub on Brady that he hated recruiting & didn’t even bother to try to remember the names of recruits coming in on visits?
That would be an odd decision by him and an odd decision by LSU.

Did you read the whole article? It mentioned about LSU has it easy to recruit in the state of Louisiana. Not going to be a big deal for Brady. Then LSU fans love Brady and would love to have him back as an OC right now.
