Where does Bert Jones rank among SEC quarterbacks?

His pro career was a "Might have been...". Got beat up early in his career and injuries got him. Had a gun. Was in an era where it was tough to break through in the AFC - Dolphins early in his career, Steelers, Raiders.

True but he was the NFL MVP in 1976

Thought of him as John Elway before John Elway

Charlie McClendon and Bert didn't quite gel

Had the record for consecutive completions in a game that stood for around 30 years, I believe.

Somewhere between Spencer Pennington and Tim Tebow as far as college careers.
