Probably too easy for a trivia question, but I had forgotten about this. If you remember the name, you'll remember the nickname.
What SEC quarterback passed for over 500 yards against an SEC opponent in his very first start and (not surprisingly) never accomplished the feat again? Also broke his school's previous single game passing record, which was set one year earlier.

Correct. Sc's first game after clowney left. It's also the game where this rant classic came from....
Still have ptsd from that one.

Kenny Trill Hill. Where are they now?

That South Carolina game in 2014 was magical. Everyone thought the cocks were good. So we felt pretty damn good after thrashing them in Columbia. Then reality set in. From 5-0 to 5-3.
I went to the Mizzou game that year. The first of many road losses I attended. Also attended our loss to UCLA in 2017, Mississippi State in 2018, and LSU in 2019. I don't travel anymore for games.

Was that the year he lost to BAMA 52-0 or something like that?

I'll respectful disagree.
In all seriousness through, that game should have been played a year earlier. Imagine the eyeballs that Johnny Football vs Clowney would have drawn.

I believe so.

That was quick. Correct, 2014 against S. Carolina, Hill passed for 511 yards completed 44 of 60 and 3 touchdowns in a 52-28 rout of South Carolina.
I should've used the other question but I wasn't sure if others had done it or not; what QB set his school's single game passing record, against an SEC opponent in his first start? Kenny Trill Hill broke Johnny Manziel's single game record (464 yards in a loss to Alabama in 2013).

I was sitting in a bar in Columbia SC watching the game surrounded by Gamecock fans so that game sticks out in my memory

Mine too. But for all the wrong reasons. Lol

Zeier did pass for 544 yds (may be an SEC Record), but not against an SEC opponent. That was against Southern Miss in 1993.

The 2013 Bama game was also pretty wild. The big rematch. I had great seats as a student. Just couldn't keep up with Bama though. My roommate crashed out after and his gf broke up with him lol. M

Zeier did it in the 90s, but his record was broken in 2020.
