He's bringing Moffitt back with him

Would take him in a heartbeat. Excellent coach.

I mean y'all are a fantastic destination if all the moving parts agree. I saw a post earlier on the coaches changing board about poaching the A&M OC Klein, didn’t like that one bit

Klein cannot do anything with this team if we do not have a Marcel Reed to come along with him. You are good. Did not know it (should have) but we hired Sloan solely to position us to recruit Underwood.
Dumb, dumb, dumb

What about Van Buren? Seems like there is potential

Better hope you can hire, because you’ve never been about to beat an A&M team led by Elko.

Honestly do not know. He had success late in the 4th but it was against your subs. I think he should start the rest of the way. Nothing to lose now. Best case scenario (from my perspective) is 7-5.

I don’t think Klein leaves except for a small-mid P4 school. Could see him going to Oklahoma State. They seem like the biggest “threat” right now.
He’s still pretty young. He would be a huge gamble for a team like LSU.

I’m about to piss off a bunch of TAMU fans but Elko feels like a Chizik like coach to me. Seems like he caught lightning in a bottle and frankly I don’t think he’s capable of holding onto it. 2-3 losses by the end of the post season.

Elko isn’t going to LSU. You are dreaming

I think he should start the rest of the way

I didn’t say he was. I said it would be a bad hire. I don’t think he’s got the discipline to have multiple great seasons.

How did he “catch lighting in a bottle”?
He’s a defensive coach that has instilled discipline and an expectation to win in his players. A lot of what you see is attitude and not necessarily a more talented roster. Team has been put with their backs against the wall more than once and turned things around. That is where his coaching/leadership comes in IMO.

I could see him going to PSU though.
