Saw the vandy X post about it last night, was like that’s cool. Good for them.

Got ready to post it to the rant, then saw who the win was against

Volleyball sucks and has. Surprised Vandy didn't have it until this year for so long.

Soccer and softball carry women.

They were good in 2023 and went 23-6 overall. I am sure Hunter signed the head coach to a stupid contract with a huge buyout after or during that season.

From Coach Watson's bio on the athletic website...

quote:

Watson’s best season yet at Arkansas came in 2023 as the Hogs ended the 2023 slate at NCAA regional final, the furthest any Arkansas team has ever gone in an NCAA Tournament. Despite a 3-1 loss to the No. 1 Nebraska Cornhuskers, Arkansas was the only team to take a set from Nebraska through three rounds of tournament play. En route to that match, the Razorbacks took down the Kentucky Wildcats with a five-set victory in the Sweet 16, the first win over Kentucky for the program since 2012. Arkansas went into the NCAA Tournament as a 3-seed and hosted the first two rounds at Barnhill Arena for the first time since 2006.

In the regular season, Arkansas got out to a hot start at 18-2 in non-conference play, with the team’s only two losses to No. 1 Wisconsin, one of them in five sets. The Hogs went 15-3 in SEC play, their best record since 2003, which included a 2-0 record agianst Florida. The Razorbacks went to Gainesville on Oct. 29 and got their first win ever in the swamp, in sweeping fashion.

The Hogs concluded 2023 with a 28-6 record, the most wins since 1999 and the third straight 20-win season for the program. They were one of just two teams, along with Nebraska, to not drop in the AVCA Coaches Poll through 10 weeks, spent six weeks in the top 10, and reached the highest rank in program history at No. 8.

So Watson will have been here 10 seasons after this year...and they are absolutely horrible. I am sure Hunter will keep him around.

They were terrible last year as well. Probably move on now with back to back bad bad years.

Hes only made the NCAAT twice in 10 seasons here. That's terrible.

Idk what volleyball attendance is even when they had a good season but soccer and softball stay pretty packed.

It infuriates me that with the ton of female basketball talent the state produces we've been the drizzling shits for so long. Arkansas used to be, if not a basketball powerhouse, than a scary team that even top powers didn't take likely.

Now everyone cherry picks Arkansas talent.

Yeah Jeff Long had his own version of Chad Morris for that program in Jimmy Dykes, really tanked the program.

Neighbors didn't really help too much in bringing the program back, 2 NCAAT trips in 8 seasons with zero wins and a paltry 51–76 (.402) SEC win rate.

Still can't believe that top 15 ranked 4th in SEC 2021 team with Dungee lost to fricking Wright State in the first round. Out of nowhere really, 5 straight wins to end regular season, 8 of last 9. Then just completely shite the bed vs a bum. Then got absolutely blown out by 7 seed Utah in Dungee's senior season and I just knew right then Washington fans were right when they celebrated him leaving calling him a terrible in game coach.

They will probably be the worst team in the conference this year. New coach has very little to work with.
