Someone has to talk with Gunner about taking what is given and concentrating on getting

1st downs.... Love the kid, but when the defense is struggling, every play should be about putting yourself in high percentage plays to sustain drives through 1st downs.
I think maybe he has been over coached a bit. He threw an errant ball to branch when he had a sure first down early with his legs.
Long passes are great but only on stolen possessions or when you have to. Throwing a lower percentage 20 yard pass versus something to get 5 yards and the first is bad football in big games.
Fromm should give him a call and just talk about that. He understood that the best of any UGA QB in my life.

That’s why he did the first two games and everyone was bitching about him being Charley check down and he needed to press the ball down field.

That's the over coaching part but against lessor opponents you can take shots, but in big games you take the sure thing and sustain drives.
Take shots on stolen possessions.
Take shots on stolen possessions.

I'm sorry but this one's not on Gunner. We didn't win or lose the game because of Gunner. This was straight lack of good defense and coaching. It wasn't Gunners fault fumbling the ball and plus territory going to do some balls into some tight windows that took balls and he also threw a beautiful deep pass that should have been caught and walked in for a TD simple as that

Not blaming Gunner other than he needs to concentrate on high probability plays on 3 Rd down. Otherwise love the kid.

Correct, but there's areas he can improve just like everyone else on the team. I don't fault this loss on one single player. The coaches on the other hand.... The coaches have hit their ceiling except for maybe Kirby. Still waiting to see if he makes the changes necessary like Saban did or will loyalty and aversion to change be his downfall like most coaches.
