If deboer ultimately does fail at bama, does that alter how SEC ADs conduct searches?

Combined with Harsin’s fiasco at Auburn, it would provide some evidence that unfamiliarity with the region/conference is a big deal in modern cfb.
In that regard, I feel like Georgia conducted the perfect search when they hired KS. They went out and got the top coordinator in the conference. No “carpetbagger” type issues.

Get someone with real football experience even if they don’t have the big name. In this age you need a players coach and someone who can keep discipline. Let the coordinators do their job.

He’s able to recruit the southeast fine. I just haven’t seen any fire in him. No half time adjustments. Not sure how he won consistently at the other places he’s been, but for whatever reason it isn’t clicking at all at Bama. I hope he can turn it around, but to this point in his tenure at Alabama, he’s shown me nothing to think he can.

I definitely think you are right about regional familiarity being a key to success. But that goes with any region and it's not so much recruiting that it affects but more so in how you get your players to buy in.
