I posted this in another thread but wanted to start another because our players footing was so much more questionable than FSU’s:

Why did our players slip almost every single play?

Did we show up in the wrong cleats or something?

It was posted all over the internet that FSU replaced their sod only 2 weeks ago, which isn’t enough time for it to “set”. Add the sloppy rainy weather and we were sliding all over the place.

Only saw one FSU player slip while trying to make a play.

Did we wear rubber or hard plastic cleats? Short turf spikes or regulation spikes for muddy conditions?

While yes, the above isn’t why we lost, but it shows lack of preparation, attention to detail, and lazy prep by our multi-million dollar personnel/staff.

Same thing happened against Michigan in the Outback Bowl. We were on skates while they didn’t seem to be affected.

Truly it reminded me of 2015 when Aub drenched their field for a week to catch us wearing the wrong spikes. D.Henry couldn’t do anything the first half…it was pitiful.

But our staff brought both types of cleats, so players changed and we dominated the second half while Henry solidified a Heisman.

But against FSU that wasn’t the case and we slipped and fell all game. Fricking pitiful for our staff not to expect or prepare for sloppy field conditions.

Don't know about the cleats but the team and staff showed up today without any G.A.S. about the game imo.

Our equipment staff is too busy curating playlists for our stars and color coding their gloves and socks too worry about weather. They’re juggling which diamond encrusted mouth piece goes to who! Give them a break!

There's a reason Saban got out of it all. It's exhausting managing all of that every year

Bringing the wrong type of cleats when the weather forecast has predicted rain for over 3 weeks is just fricking lazy.

The play that infuriates me the most was when 22 was about to get a 3rd down sack in the third quarter and both feet slid out from under him. Also, Bernard trying to turn up the sideline after a wide open catch and falling flat on his chest while trying to turn upfield.

The whole game felt like we played a bit slower because our footing wasn’t solid. And it’s not an excuse for the loss, but I never saw any FSU player slip - all game long.

Again, not the reason we lost but it sure as hell didn’t help
