Even before Saban I feel like we got here a few years ago

I feel like 2023 going to the Rose Bowl was Saban’s best coaching job looking back.
How have we we not had a DL disrupter for over 5 years?
How have we not had an alpha dog at LB for 8 years? I’m thinking Rashaan Evan’s 2017 last one
How have we not had a good OL for 5 years?
How have we not had a 1000 yard rusher since Najee and he barely went over
I’m not excusing Deboer and Wommack and Grubb for anything, they fricking sucked today.
But like, even in Saban’s last years we’ve not had any of those guys I mentioned. Why? Even with Sabans last 3 years, and since he left, why can’t we find those dogs that we used to have?
Hell Demeco Ryans was there in the dark ages. How have we missed so badly on such needed positions and personalities?
There is no fight amongst all this “talent”, it’s a bunch of talented pussies and it’s been that way for 5 years and it goes even beyond Deboer.

Post 2020 things started to get shaky on the personnel standpoint, especially defensively.
The undisciplined play, penalties and general lack of fire has been around for a while now. DeBoer has a big job on his hands on multiple fronts, and he’s not been meeting the challenge.
