The family across the street have two of their three kids on ADHD meds now even though they are just hyper kids. What percent of the OT do the same?

My daughter was diagnosed but not the hyperactivity part. They had her on some dumb shite that I got her off of. My niece was diagnosed at like age 7. She has it BAD. Even as an adult, if she doesn't take her meds, she will bounce off the walls and just hop in place. Anyone that doesn't believe its a real thing should spend one day with her when she doesnt take her medicine.

It's going to be both monumental and tragically sad when we finally figure out what's been causing this all along.

My son is to be evaluated for ADHD and ASD, as his symptoms are similar to both. We went through this with his sister when her pediatrician suspected her of having ASD, which she did not. That was the happiest day of my life when we were told she did not have it.

I wonder how many actually have it and how many just have shitty parents.

From my personal experience, some doctors may play a big role in false diagnoses. I switched pediatricians after she continued to push ADS after the Cleveland Clinic said my daughter did not have it.

Zero. We didn't throw iPads at them as soon as they could hold them.

I'm glad to hear. Children are gifts from God.

How many great-grandkids do you have, if it is ok to ask?

One boy and one girl.

Granddaughter loves to leave them with me at the Farmer’s Market.

I take them to the wrong places. Bakery with doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, ice cream, pet the goats….i know the best places to go.

Trouble is, at 71, I have my Dad’s hair. Still brown. The Granma’s want to know if I’m on the market….

It sounds like you guys have a lot of fun. My kids want to spend more time with my parents than they do with me. My daughter says they're the fun mommy and daddy.

I'm glad the medicine is helping. I've been thinking ahead about what we will do if my son is diagnosed with it. Wondering what treatments are available.

My now 8 Y.O was diagnosed.a couple of years ago.We are on a mild medication. Very mild. Biggest push is the teachers trying to push the meds. Limiting Red Dye has been our biggest success with him.

Have you noticed a difference since being on the medicine?

I'll take my son next week for evaluation. I don't feel comfortable about it because of his age, because children develop differently. As I said above, my daughter's pediatrician pushed for a positive diagnosis, before and after her evaluation. If she only knew what she put my wife and me through.

Prayers and best wishes to your family.

Not a child, but a grandchild.
