"This doesn't change anything for me. I'm still going to Alabama. I grew up an Alabama fan and that is where I always wanted to go," Johnson said. "I'm a little discouraged because both linebacker coaches are gone but I know Nick Saban is a defensive guy and Coach Smart knows what he is doing. Alabama is in great hands for the future. So I'm not worried about that at all."

This will not effect BAMA in the slightest bit.

Saban will likely upgrade those coaching positions anyway. I think Mcelwain coming in when Applewhite left was one of the main reasons the team had so much success this year.

yeah, it won't for all of those kids that grew up Bama fans, but Thompson is a great recruiter, to say that it won't effect bama down the road, is idiotic.

who is next to leave Saban's HELL??? lets see Saban has been there 2 yrs now, in that spand Bama has lost 3 coaches and 2 players left early for draft.

What should worry you.... is that you know from experience how intense and and focused Saban is. He's the bee's knees and you know it.

I am NOT disaggreeing with you. Lance Thompson is a HUGE loss to 'Bama. I only hope Nicky can find a replacement for him that is as good a recruiter as he was, which would be damn near impossible. (2008 Recruiter of the year)

Tennessee will be investigated within 2 years with Orgeron and Thompson recruiting for them. Book it. Am I the only one here who is glad Thompson is gone? Need I remind everyone who he was coaching with the last time he was at Bama?

Saban is an arse and a nightmare to work for. However many very successful companies are run this way. Wall Street works this way. Goldman Sacs works this way. Hire the most talented guys available, work their arse off, and be prepared to replace them when they burn out and leave for a better offer (more $ due to the training and experience they received). Lack of personnell retention does cost money, but as part of a business strategy to get the most out of talented people for as long as possible and being prepared to replace them works in the business world for many top organizations.

ohhh, I agree, he is great from a fans point of view. But, its proven with LSU and the Dolphins, he is a HARD coach to work with and play for.
