I say no way in hell.

This isn't the NFL, where the coach takes the ingredients that the GM and front office gives them and figures out the recipe. A college coach is the de factor director of player personnel and GM. If your players don't perform or if they regress, that's on you.

When you finish 1st or 2nd in recruiting every year, and you were trailing in 10 different games and end up losing 3 games, it's sure as frick not your best season. Should've done better with player development and training and coaching.

This was an upperclassman team. The chatter before the season was they we could break the NFL Draft record for most selections in one draft. We had way too many key players regress from last season.

I still trust Kirby to figure it out, however. Kirby is the ultimate details man, and he is really good at taking a 50,000 foot view (terrible expression) and assessing the entire organization. I guess we'll see.

Agreed - not even close to the best coaching season he’s had. That said, with the transfer portal - keeping all those 1/2 ranked recruiting classes is impossible and every team has flaws. We had a very good defense but the offense was putrid most of the year.

You can tell that Zeir is secretly pissed right now on the post-game show and that he wasn't happy with the season overall. Talked about how we finished 100th something in the nation in rushing and how that just can't happen at Georgia.

It sucks to have 3/5ths of them injured. You think you got a deep room when you have 5 guys, but then 3 go down, you're fricked.

He needs someone to run the offense. Look at what saben did… BoB, lane, sark, etc. not even in the same league with bobo

The offensive line repeatedly getting blown up on running plays was the far bigger problem.

I thought this was one of Kirby's worst coaching jobs. He has just as many 4 and 5 star players as Ohio State does this season, but Ohio State would beat Georgia by however many points they want to right now.

Can you give me an example tonight where the UGA OL botched a run play?

This was Kirby's 4th opening playoff game after a long layoff and his teams have been outcoached in 3 of the 4, at least in the first half. OU in 17, Ohio State in 22 and today. The Michigan win is the only outlier. Make this make sense to me?

Someone clearly missed a block on the Etienne fumble. Notre Dame's defender was untouched into the backfield.

Botched: A guy had a blocking assignment (on a run play) and failed to block his guy.

Georgia had 29 runs for 61 yards and a solid 2.1 yards per carry in this game.

Failed to block ? Failed to open holes? Whatever the case - it certainly wasn’t good enough

We also finished 102nd nationally in rushing yards per game (21st in ‘23, 19th in ‘22).
Lowest ever in the Kirby era.
