He's a freshman playing against a 5th year Sr. He has not had any receivers open to throw it to, if he does they usually drop it. Wide receivers coach should be fired. Everyone bragging on our defense this year, I never thought they were that good. I'm not a fan of Tim Banks, but I can't put this on Nico. He's done a decent job as a freshman with no help.

Yeah he has had open receivers he doesn't throw on time though.
That said the receivers still suck and aren't able to get consistent separation.
Defense is slow as frick
Coaching is the most pathetic of all though. Zero in-game adjustments. Since Heupel lost Golesh the offense has been arse

The OSU defense is all 5th seniors??
He's not playing against the other QB, he's playing against the defense.

he's afraid to throw the ball deep and afraid to run... unless either is WIDE open.
Milton would be a better QB for Tennessee this year. He wasn't scared to air it out... ever.
Maybe Nico can grow out of it, but his fear is what makes him very average. All he's done all year is take underneath stuff and hand the ball off. He's avoided picks because of that... but he's not going to to make Heupel's offense work.

Ehhhhhhh. The WRs are mediocre, but Nico’s biggest problem is he is like Jackson Arnold. Both have the physical tools to be great but don’t throw with great anticipation. They’re a “see it, then throw it” guy, meaning they’re late on a lot of throws.
Now maybe they grow into it, most young qbs struggle with that. But some never grow into that ability.
