OK, guys, I know this is a long shot. Trolls will undoubtedly try to destroy the thread. That being said, it's worth a shot. Can we get some of the serious, knowledgeable posters in here to talk about this game? Matchups, strengths, weaknesses, tendencies, etc. I remember TexasonTop talking about Quinn struggling against 3-deeps, and that was really interesting and the kind of stuff I'm looking for.

I will try.

From a Longhorn perspective:

Hey have to be able to hold up against a very good Aggie DL and keep their QB upright. They most likely won’t be able to run against A&M given they struggle in this realm and A&Ms DL is actually very good. However they also tend to take games off so it depends on who shows up. On Defense, I think the Longhorns will have most passing options covered. They have a very good secondary. A&M will need to be patient and take what is given.

From the Aggie perspective::

They need to be able to run the ball and get to 2nd and 5 or better. If they are in 2nd and 8 they will be forced to pass and beat the Texas secondary which probably won’t happen often. So they must run the ball. Defensively, they must get to the QB and hurry him and force him to rush decisions and throws. If they can’t we will lose.

Overall, I see this as a field position game with one team struggling to put up points on the other.

I give the advantage to A&M for two reasons.

Kyle field and our kicking game is better than theirs.

It’s going to come down to field position and field goals.

TEXAS is real good at dissapointing their fans in big games. Its already happened with Georgia. You can throw most of the matchup stuff out the window. I expect, because of the past 20 years performance, for TEXAS to cave. But if they win, it means that this Sark culture thing is real.

Yes, but it's fun and super interesting to talk about the X's and O's.

From the aggy perspective: Re-watch the Georgia game over and over. Texas has a very large problem with punts. If you are able to turn this into a slug fest of field position you can do exactly what GA did. Force the Texas D to continually defend a short field.

Allow Texas to play their game and keep it close or hold a 10 point lead? They will destroy you in the 4th with long drives based on power run plays. For all the talk about Sark and his next level play calls, he seems to love grinding the clock and breaking a defenses back to end a game.

Special teams is possible the only area where we have a big advantage over Texas. Our punter is very good, and Bond is rock solid.

Texas will need to strike early. The crowd will be a huge factor. If the Aggies keep it close, I see the crowd affecting things late in the game. Both teams need to keep their emotions in check. This will be hands down the best atmosphere in CFB this season.

I'll just repeat what I've been saying for a week.

I trust our defense. I do not trust Quinn Ewers. Our defense is good enough to win this game if Quinn can avoid multiple turnovers. I do think your defense will do a great job in this game. I full expect a 27-24 type game. It's going to be a crazy environment. I wish I was going to be there.

absolutely you have a huge advantage here. In a tight game (which I fully expect) this could make the difference.

I agree with all of this.

You can have a good culture and still lose. Even saban dropped some games and his culture was unmatched.

NOT AGAIN

you two have invented EVERY possibility involving a aggy miraculous WIN.

stop it already IT AIN"T HAPPENING!

Your players will still be in the locker room licking their wounds tomorrow and you two have already pivoted from how great anm is to WHY nobody likes aggies.

Nobody cares why they don't like aggie, and they don't want you two speculating as to why and how wrong they are for it.

Poor aggies

There are plenty of threads for you to continue to act like a spoiled 13 year old. Give people a break in this one.

As there are plenty of places to bitch about Quinn not being Arch just as you bitched about Major not being Chrissy?

But just stay here and find out if there is an aggy arse you haven't kissed yet.

Jesus christ you are pathetic.

We really need the ability to ignore posters on this site. These immature trolls like this guy are too much. He's never once posted a single clever thing. He just spews childish garbage. It's really pathetic.
I'll stop responding to this count. Get this thread back on track with the adults please.

Texas dominates in all of the areas A&M struggles to defend. This game matches up perfectly for Texas. The only way we lose this one is if we turn the ball over 2+ times.

I'm worried about ball control. It seems like Texas is good at keeping the rock and wearing a defense into the ground, and we cannot afford to let them do that to us. Our offense isn't anywhere near explosive enough to come back from big deficits against Texas' defense.

While this is true it will only matter if we can get up on them early. Our issues tend to snowball when they surface, which is exactly what happened against Georgia. If the ags get up early and that crowd is rowdy it could cause all sorts of issues for us.
The OL must play their best game or quinn will melt.
