OVERALL | Offense | Defense
1) Ohio State
2) Texas | 10 | 1
3) Ole Miss | 5 | 6
4) Oregon
5) Bama | 8 | 9
6) Penn State
7) Georgia | 11 | 4
8) Notre Dame
9) Indiana
10) S Carolina | 39 | 7
11) Tennessee | 41 | 5
15) LSU | 14 | 27
18) Texas A&M | 32 | 18
27) Florida | 46 | 29
33) Oklahoma | 87 | 10
34) Missouri | 47 | 33
38) Kentucky | 69 | 41
40) Vanderbilt | 40 | 69
42) Auburn | 68 | 31
53) Arkansas | 51 | 44
80) Miss State | 25 | 119
Notes:
-Wild to see USCe ahead of TN, but their rankings are virtually identical, how critical was that early loss to LSU?
-Ole Miss looks like an incredibly complete team right now and Dart is having the best efficiency year in CFB right now
-Tough to explain LSU ahead of A&M, but the computers were really impressed with LSU offensively early and it’s carrying them
-Mississippi State is quietly fielding one of the worst efficiency defenses in SEC history right now (119/134)
-If OU had even a mediocre offense this year they’d be right there with USCe & Tennessee
-Bama’s offensive struggles seem to correspond directly with them playing the 5th and 7th rated defenses in the country, how they do at #10 OU on the road at night this weekend should be very telling for any potential future SECCG/CFP matchup

There’s a third value for special teams I just didn’t include it.
Arkansas is pretty bad at kicking things apparently.

Interesting how this is never discussed about UGAs offensive struggles. It’s just ‘UGA is barely winning and Beck sucks “

UGA has played FEI D 1 (TX), 5 (TN), 6 (OM) and 9 (Bama) in a seven week stretch with three of those on the road and three at night.
I’d argue what UGA did in the 2H against Bama and TN were two of the best halves of offensive football played all season when you adjust for competition.
If UGA is going to win a championship they’ll have to go vertical passing and hope Beck doesn’t turn the ball over. The running game isn’t really there so why waste so many plays?

Wonder how this compares to the 2023 LSU defense?
Edit: 2023 LSU was 101st
