Pure buffoonery. You're not doing any of these players any favors with this stupid shite. I see now DeBoer isn't the guy for the job. He comes off as a too much of a friend rather than a taskmaster, stern, leader of men.

Things like this make me think that watching a club football team made up of actual students playing other schools down at the rec field would be more rewarding. What a fricking joke this all has become.

Do people actually let this bother them? Why?

Sheeeesh ... that's tacky.

It's all about the bling rather than the performance.

Football used to be about effort, intensity and enthusiasm. It's a gladiator sport, not a beauty pageant.

One of the best things Mario Cristobal has done at Miami is he quickly got rid of that turnover chain BS. And, this is Miami! But, DeBoer is endorsing this stupid shite! After hearing Diego Pavia talk about the trash the Bama players were talking in the pre-game and how it was so bad he refused to shake their hands before the game, I think we have a serious culture problem. We used to be a program that talked trash but it was IN THE GAME and we let our play do most of the talking. We are looking like copycat posers and not a program at the vanguard of the conference and country.

I’d say find your nearest D3 or NAIA school team, but if too many people do that, they’ll be ruined, too.

It doesn't have shite to do with NIL. What we're seeing are adults who think they have to be overly friendly and accommodating to young adults. You can say what you want to say about a guy like Kiffin but he reached his limit with arguably the best RB in college football and let him walk. I feel like DeBoer would let these guys do whatever they want.

Miami started the football players with dreadlocks, gold teeth, flashy celebrations, etc. And, their coach who is from Miami and played there has sense enough to cut out the buffoonery on the sidelines. The players can wear chains like I'm Gonna Git You Sucka but not on the sidelines.

That’s some Chode Morris level shite. Y'all don’t deserve that even if you don’t do as well year in and year out as you did when tGoat was there.

You act like you are surprised? DeBoer has only been a head coach for a short time and mostly at low level programs. Even Washington is no where near the pressure cooker of a top tier SEC school, especially not Alabama. On top of that following the greatest coach ever and with that coach in a office in the building most days. He is doomed to fail, anyone would be.

I wouldn't say it bothers me, but it's pretty ghetto.

You said the quiet part out loud. But that is the root of the anger when it comes to this.

If this was happening at Colorado all I would say is that's on-brand for them. But, this is Bama. We don't need stupid gimmicks like this. I understand having a culture that is friendly to young folks but when that culture crosses over to a place where responsible, mature adults aren't exercising leadership that culture is bound for doom.

I don't know why it's the quiet part. Ghetto culture is a plague on society pushed by intelligence agencies to keep people ignorant and dependent on government through glorification of soulless concepts like pride, getting mine and that anyone who has good morals and values things like education is a chump.

Football and college should be about removing these qualities to give them a future, not the other way around.

So I wouldn't say it angers me, but I would rather see players who have the right priorities too.

Or maybe the root of the anger is that we just lost to Vanderbilt and our players are so obsessed with style over substance that we’re making a guy stand on the sideline holding their chains?? But sure, there’s some “quiet part” that all us horrible people who want to see a more disciplined team are actually upset about. Some arse hats may be upset over the chains because of some racial BS, but it’s not the one “root” of the anger about it and it’s ridiculous to paint all criticism like that.
