Ok. Here is the definition in the article that Freeze gave. I still don't have a clue what stemming is.
But we get warned all the time that a linebacker can’t shouldn’t step up and be aggressive in getting them to move with them raising up.
Can somebody explain what it is using little words, or draw me a picture, please?

The thing where our whole D line suddenly shifts. If one of the DL or LB suddenly shouts “MOVE” or something then it could be treated essentially like clapping is where they’re saying the defense mimics the QB. If you want to shift everyone at once it needs to be on some silent cue or a hey d line shift now. Not something sudden and sharp.
It’s a dumb rule. When I played the OL had to hold their water til the snap no matter what. I miss those days.
