The SEC knows that their officiating is corrupted IMO. It's a feature not a bug. Otherwise, this dude would be fired today as a clear sign that the problem was being addressed.

I don't have any issue with an official joking around with a player. I'd venture to say it's more common than we think.

Sometimes we're super sensitive about how our fan base is perceived (barking bad, Spike Squad bad), but this is actually the type of stuff that makes us look like loons.

On the field after a play yes, going over to the bench, that's too much. Crosses a line.

Breaks the vail of impartiality

He went all the way to Bama's bench to share a private comment with a player and they both had a big laugh. This is no different from a boxing referee going over to a fighter's corner between rounds and making private jokes. College football is a high level sport with huge sums bet on the outcome. That's unprofessional behavior in any major sport and if you think it's appropriate, you're naive IMO.

I have absolutely zero context or backstory on what was posted in OP so can't speculate. I do know that college officials are just regular joe office workers Monday-Friday then ref on weekends. There is a head official that we've all see many times as the white hat officiating UGA games that worked at the same company as a family member of mine in Birmingham. This guy lived and worked a few miles from the SEC home office then officiated SEC football games on Saturday. I have no context whatsoever on the OP but hell it wouldn' surprise me if the ref was an actual fan going over to ask for an autograph for his kids or something.

It really is a sham that in this big of a league with as much money being thrown around we don't have professional, legitimate referees.

He didn’t make any calls that helped them get up 28-0! Hell, Bama had 3 or 4 penalties on that first drive and overcame all of them!

As much as Bama gets all the calls narrative, UGA got beat in that game, especially the defense!

Now is that a bad look, yes! I’m sure he’s getting talked to this week!

I disagree, if you flag every successful play a team has for what I call 50/50 penalties, you have taken the rythym away. Beck was out of rythym after the 1qtr and Milroe was out in the 3 and 4 qtr.

I don't vi spider any of the 3 opi call strong. The Ling ball was hand fighting both ways and the Bama guy tripped. The extra point the Bama guy wraps his arm around our guy and drags him backwards with his hands over his head.

The missed horse caller furthered by a 50/50 hold call was bull shite.

Not blaming refs, team overcame and grew up.

Kirby is 1-1 versus Alabama with non-SEC officiating.

The dropped pass last year that wasn't reviewed significantly changed the SECCG.

If we play Bama again, I hope that it will be in the playoffs without SEC officiating.
