With all the emphasis on our staff on DB play they got worked and lost tonight. A kid 5 years removed from middle school had his way all night.

Getting burned by a freshman Bama wideout is nothing new to Georgia football.

Looked better in second half, while defense did, but yeah was expecting more from him and Jalon Walker

Think Kirby had a bad gameplan to start. Also think Bama got complacent and lost their juice

When Williams juked and made Humphrey and Bolden run into each other, it looked like a middle school game.

A tale as old as time when the opponent is Alabama.

This right here! Doesn't Kirby preach to approach every game the same regardless of the opponent? He needs to practice what he preaches when it comes to Bama. Has he ever had a good game plan against them?

All of the cute delayed blitzes and twists and stunts on passing downs is getting old. Too slow developing. It seems as if that shite hasn't worked in a while now. Just let lineman and outside backers beat their men and get to the quarterback. Or blitz one linebacker like a bat out of hell directly.

I think our biggest problem is not having a difference maker at defensive tackle (specifically NT). It is so hard with that position because there truly are <10 guys that fit the mold of being the right body type and are actual difference makers for what we want in a NT. Losing Bear Alexander was a bad thing for both him and UGA. He was the heir apparent and could have been had he been willing to grind against our competition in practice. Having a Jordan Davis or even John Jenkins type makes everything open up and work better for us.

I actually think the opposite is the bigger issue. We try too hard to have a big Jordan Davis guy with complimentary pieces but JD is rare and frankly he didn’t play hardly on obvious passing downs. I think we need more and better penetrators so that our coaches don’t feel the need to blitz as often. Defensive football is still a lot more simple if you can get home with 4. We can’t do that with any consistency. It’s been an issue for most of Kirby’s tenure.

I feel like we are saying the same thing. We don’t have a Jordan Davis type. If you don’t have that, you can’t, or at least probably shouldn’t play like you do.

I guess my point is what’s the point in having a JD if when we do shut down the run, we can’t stop the pass anyways? Might as well go after the Jalen Carter types trying to find penetrators and pass rushers. That would help our pass defense more. We get by well enough in run defense usually. Hell. We didn’t have anything close to JD in 16-18 and we defended the run well then.
