Not really, congrats to Josh and his team.

Reality is we gave that game to them. Our OC is incompetent. Jackson Arnold cannot play on the big stage, which you never know until they face it. Can have all the talent and just freeze which he did.

1st down plays. 3 turnovers and safety

Our defense is legit and when you factor in how much time they spent on field due to offensive malpractice, its amazing what they did.

On top of Jackson mistakes, we are missing too many players. But hot damn, we at least have a qb on the roster who can still win us games. There were rumors all summer that Hawkins was outplaying Jackson but it was brushed off as JA going against 1’s. But our D is deep so it now seems Hawkins was better but my guess is with NIL they stuck with Arnold.

If Tenn is a top 5 team, we really contained them on D. And our own offensive mistakes gave the game away. Tenn got 9 points off our turnovers and we got 0 points off theirs. Lost by 10, but so much is different if we had Hawkins to start game.

Venables says Nic Anderson re-strained his quad. Says Kendel Dolby dislocated his ankle and will have surgery. Says Deion Burks was a soft tissue injury. Also Tatum was hurt but nothing on him yet. We were down #1/2/3 wrs plus best RB plus oline. And had an incompetent QB and OC. And yet could still have won game had Hawkins started. So if you are Tenn, you better not brag about this game because you got some lucky breaks. I am truly happy for Josh, he gave us a title and great memories.

This isn’t about UGA

It’s about Tenner and the fact that it’s a fugazi offense

Tennessee looks like a decent team, most of college football looks terrible in quality right now. So by default, maybe they are a top 5 squad.

I’m actually excited. Tenn was bragged to have the best offense and what our D did was top notch stuff. But with Hawkins we actually have more options so that inspires me. He made quick decisions. His passes were crisp and on target. His leg threat changes defenses.

If he can adapt quickly, which that was a big stage to get thrown into, then as we get healthy players back we’ll improve game by game.

Sometimes you lose and see no good options moving forward. Thats not the case here. Our O can improve a lot and with our D, there is lots to play for yet. I imagine Hawkins getting a full week of 1’s practice/focus and a different offense. He seems to have that desire where Arnold is lacking. Everything Arnold did was slo mo. And his decisions are bad. Hawkins coming into that situation made a difference.

TN halftime against NC State 20-3
TN Halftime against Okla 19-3.

Congrats, Okla defense is 1 point better than NC ST.

I could go line by line and explain in-depth why OP take is bad, and why OP diary entry is nothing but delicious melt.

But I don't want OP to learn.

We broke Okla last night. We not only beat them last night, we beat them in Knoxville next year, as well.

Welcome to the SEC 6-6.

I believe you have stumbled into the wrong thread.

You need to be here: Georgia fans seem very insecure about Tennessee

It was all true. Except Jackson flamed out. He was a top HS QB for a reason. But he regressed and can’t handle college pressure. But at the time he was not staying if DG stayed and he had all the tools to be great. Turns out he’s a bust. DG left to not cause problems. And DG has his own issues with long ball.

My guess is JA transfers to Miss State after season, Lebby recruited him. And with time he can likely be salvaged. Lebby can fix him

Honest question. I was at the game last night (first time to Norman). Why do Sooner fans do the “horns down” even when they are playing other teams. Every person they showed on the big screen did horns down. It didn’t really make sense.

I’m not an OU hater but this is full delusion. That game was nothing short of a program altering disaster. OU sent Gabriel packing, committed 100% to the future with Arnold, got a big night game at home to enter the SEC on a national platform, and the Arnold plan was over before halftime to experiment with a 3 star scrambling freshman.

Every OU fan is saying this online. Whatever helps you sleep better. You had a mop up TD to make it a 10 point game and Tenn was playing conservative

If you had announced Hawkins was starting Monday, Tenn would have had a week to prepare for a true freshman. You see QBs come in all the time and do well because they don’t have tape on them

I saw 90% of Hawkins HS snaps and at no time did I think he was a SEC starter but curious to see what happens. He’s gotten better but I still think Arnold is more talented and has a higher ceiling.
