Feel like that was something we really struggled with last night on defense. Seems like we were leaving way too many escape lanes for a rushing quarterback.
I remember that used to be a huge thing Kirby was always very strict with so I was very surprised last night

On the run out of the end zone, he slipped through a pretty tight hole. He was a split second from a safety. I give him credit on that one.
Another one we stunted inside and one of the DTs couldn’t contain, but he was also being clearly held.
On a RB run to the left, something went wrong. The DE almost looked like he was stunting inside and was supposed to have LB help… or he did the wrong thing… or he bit on it. That was definitely a miss by someone.
What hurt us the most was they were able to get 5 yards between the tackles more than we are used to seeing. With that said, their drives were all stalled with no major threat of a TD, so they hunkered and made plays.

Also, Smart mentioned in his presser that we were not rotating D line players like we usually do due to lack of bodies..
