Here is where we are as college football goes:

They are paid athletes now.

The NCAA pretty much is non existent, and they have zero authority

I need something to do on Saturdays, so this version of college football will have to do I suppose. And there isn’t much anyone can do about it.

Because government got involved. And like everything else government gets involved in, it went to shite.

For once, this isn’t the government’s fault.

The NCAA should have been proactive about this decades ago. Anyone could have read the tea leaves. But the schools couldn't see through their greed.

Th NCAA has a legal team. They should've known they'd lose the supreme court case, and had a plan ready to roll out to regulate the new college athletics landscape.

They didn't do that.

They still haven't.

You have "quit" this site multiple times. I wish you'd do it for real.

Not necessarily for this post alone, but for your body of work and previous threats of quitting.

It’s Ed O Bannon’s fault and also ea sports
One lawsuit because of a video game was the tip of the iceberg

I disagree.

The entire system was and is voluntary from top to bottom. There was no problem, just the top 1% trying to screw over the other 99%

Don’t care to comment on the original post? Imo, there is nothing that can be done now. NCAA has gotten neutered

Also wish you would quit acting like a bitch in a “Rib off” contest that you lost. Quit being a bitch. Bitch.

Aren't "the courts" the ones that mandated players have the right to compensation? And that they can't be held back from transferring somewhere else if they want to for any reason?

Courts have absolutely zero place in amateur collegiate athletics yet they inserted themselves anyway now here we are.

Unfortunately, it was also the only viable path to become a professional football player. Most of the kids that played college football never cared 1 bit about college

It just became NFLs, draft league. The NCAA has zero say about anything anymore

I am the back to back national champion of the GSB Rib Off. The votes were tallied, I won. The first one was very close. The second one, this very month, was a landslide victory for me. It was not close.

Going to your job is voluntary too, that doesn’t mean you do it for free.

It’s not amateur athletics though. It’s a billion dollar industry.

It *literally* is. Or was I suppose. It was college students that also played sports for their school. It is the very definition of amateur student athletics.

Couldn't possibly be more irrelevant. What the universities and athletic conferences show as revenue on their balance sheets doesn't change the point above.

College sports did this to itself.

That's not the fault of the schools.
