More offseason hype leads to a higher preseason AP ranking, which further down the road can lead to a higher CFP ranking. It also helps recruiting and ticket sales for the early season stinker games. Bring on the offseason hype, Drink just needs to keep the players from buying into it

The more they expect you to be good the harder they work to keep you ranked high. Notre Dame and Oklahoma depend on this year in and year out.
