Ironically, I remember people saying Tim Cook would never be able to do well following Steve Jobs.
But he has...so the article has inadvertently made a point that DeBoer MIGHT do well.

I'm sold on Deboer as a coach and playcaller.
My only question on him is recruiting and player retention in the NIL era.
I think he'll be very good this upcoming season, but if he can't recruit at Saban's level or very close, Bama's talent will decrease. It might only decrease to the level of LSU, but Bama has dominated teams like LSU in terms of talent under Saban so falling to that level could cause a regression.
Deboer is good enough outside of recruiting that even if he's just average at bringing talent in, Bama will be consistently good. They just won't be consistently DOMINANT like they were under Saban.
