We paid 1.2M for a DL coach, we’re not paying 1.5M for DT with a total of 2 assisted tackles against his only 2 ranked opponents last year. That math doesn’t work.

LSU was in need of a good DL player and couldn't get one of those two players. The point is LSU paid a lot of money for two coaches to get some top players and that is not looking good for LSU right now. So why bother trying to get them if you can just coach up an average to good DL players that are already on the team and/or in the transfer portal.

Also, LSU fans were saying they can get any players from the transfer portal or from other teams. Now you are seeing that isn't happening now or near the future.

Williams had 1 whole tackle against OU while he and his teammates allowed 69 points. OU liked what they saw so much that...
