3down10 if anything smacks of ignorance it is your post. The coaches were never worth 10 million dollars a year, the main reason they got that money was to try to “recruit” the best players. There is very little difference between the coaching players are receiving at the top 40-50 CFB programs; the best players go where they have the best chance of getting to the NFL. Coaches like Saban and Smart did a great job of selling their programs as the best path to the NFL and were successful as a result of that.

Now college players are being treated more fairly in terms of their true market value to a college team. The programs that deal best with this reality will be successful. Programs that choose to stick their head in the sand and complain that players are selfish and entitled will likely not get very many good players on their teams. However, since I am an Auburn fan I hope you are able to convince Alabama to use your suggested approach.
