Please check this out. Let me know if true or not about Austin Texas and the surrounding areas in Texas.

Our family has a place in Austin. So I can speak to this a little bit.

Most of that stuff is about people moving to and living in Austin. Not so much about visiting.

To my way of thinking it is a good place to go for the non football vacationing things...

But if you are looking for the traditional intense college football fever surrounding a typical college town on game weekend... it just isn't there for most games. It will be interesting if an SEC schedule ramps that up.
I will admit that I was never down there when the LSUs, Alabamas and Notre Dames played there... But I have been down there on other football weekends and it just isn't the same as a typical college town as far as energy surrounding the actual game.

This. My first Texas game was top 10 AU vs top 10 UT. To say the intensity was lacking is a gross understatement.

The Alabama game atmosphere was amazing. It's hard to get up for a BIG12 schedule. Looking forward to the SEC.
