LSU during their longest streak:
1974: 5-5-1
1975: 5-6
1976: 7-3-1
1977: 8-4
1978: 8-4
1979: 7-5
1980: 7-4
1981: 3-7-1

LSU wasn’t terrible in the 70s, just not good enough to be top 20. 89-94 had some absolutely terrible teams.
