As the bitter Aggie says... People in Texas know UTA as UT Arlington.

Since Austin likes to go by ATx... UTx makes sense.

However, for the most part Texas fans/alums stick their nose in the air and pompously proclaim that they are "The University of Texas" in a similar fashion as "The Ohio State" fans/alums.

So be prepared. And this even seeps into the TV announcing at the games. Your team will be referred to as OU, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, etc. But many times instead of them just being "Texas" they will get the full "University of Texas" thing.

Something like "And the final score....Tennessee 24- The University of Texas 21"

I could see UTx. But UTa seems to bother them a lot more. Tennessee was here first, and has first claim to UT. Doesn't matter about who has the better "history"

Texas is the newcomer.

I think a lot of that is to take a shot at a&m fans who can’t bring themselves to call us UT or even “Texas” and have to call us “tu” instead (as evidenced by the post below yours and others in this thread). Why they do that, I’m not sure. But it’s cringe.

If aggies wanna act like a little brother, then we will remind them of it
