With six seconds left in the Iron Bowl and down by one point, yes, it was. 52 yards is a long FG for any era.

And although kickers used a tee back then, kickers today have a lot more emphasis on their craft just like every other position. I would rather a random 2024 college kicker (including the entire operation of snapper, holder, protection) attempt a 52 yard FG to win a game than one from 1985.
