I will give LSU one thing, when they are good they make the most of it.
They only made the 4 team playoff one time in its ten year history and won a national championship that year.
Alabama made it eight times, playing in six championship games but only winning three.
Clemson made it six times, playing in four championship games but only winning two.
Ohio State made it five times, playing in two championship games but only winning one.
Georgia made it three times and played in the championship every time, winning two.
Michigan made it three times, playing in only one championship games but winning it.
Oklahoma made the playoffs 4 times and never made a championship game.
Washington made it twice and played in one championship game, losing it.
Even Brian Kelly took Notre Dame to the playoffs twice but never won a game.
There are seven teams that made it one time. But LSU is the only one to actually win the championship game in only one trip.

True,
However...
It is important to note though that all four of LSU's national championships....
They played the final game in New Orleans....
That certainly helped them.
