Jake needs to drop "jboy" entirely he sounds ridiculous
I don't think Bruce is above criticism and I think he deserves a TON for yesterday. He did absolutely nothing to stop the game from getting out of our control even when it became very apparent we were in dicey waters.
He rides it out, always, and it bites us sometimes. This was not an elite team but it was a team that is very capable of making it to the second weekend. That's a huge deal for a program that has only made the S16 5 times. It's a failure, no doubt about it. Very big missed opportunity for a program that still needs to seize every single one.
But it's also just how Bruce is. He pieces together these teams out of spare parts with upside and this one had great chemistry but minimal leadership. He lets his guys run wild to the detriment of the team (KD, etc.) because a) sometimes it works, especially when everything is clicking and b) it's a huge draw in recruiting players ("Coach Pearl lets his players play their game, etc."). I don't think that'll change. So the recipe is probably a team with a bit more dominance (like two NBA first rounders), or a team like this year but with a bit more maturity and leadership (2019). And even then, you're at the mercy of the tournament.
I don't think Auburn can do better than Bruce and I think we need to keep letting him build us up as a basketball school. But he failed yesterday and it was a missed opportunity. I wouldn't think such things would impact his tenure at Auburn, but to the extent he envisions SP as the next HC, he's certainly got an incentive to get over this postseason success rut.

that ejection of CBM killed us yesterday - we would have won otherwise.
