College sports are a billion dollar industry. 20k would inspire a competitor league to take the talent out of the college game, making college sports unwatchable thus killing the sport.

Entertainers make millions in college. I work with a kid that made 40k in retail as freshmen in college last year doing 35 hours a week in a retail gig.

Maybe 100k for p5 schools. In east TN highschool kids make 14.00 an hour doing part time jobs, 20k to make school tens of millions would be an insult.
