Georgia had its second scrimmage today. Typically this one is locked down a bit tighter than the first of the spring, and that seems to be the case based on trying to gather intel from it. Here’s what I’ve got so far — I’ll pass along anything else I hear: — The typical pattern for scrimmages this time of year is the offense getting the leg up in the first scrimmage before the defense answers in the second. That tracks with the message from Saturday’s scrimmage, as it sounded like the defense took a step forward from last week. I wrote about Damon Wilson earlier Saturday, and it sounds like he had a productive afternoon. Now sporting No. 10, I think Wilson has a chance to play a big role at outside linebacker if he keeps it up. He’s someone I’m going to be watching closely at G-Day. — Don’t take that note to mean the defense didn’t let the offense get anything done. It sounds like Carson Beck had another strong afternoon, and Colbie Young came up with another touchdown catch. I’m still trying to find out if my Oscar Delp prediction came to pass… — Roderick Robinson drew a lot of praise after the first scrimmage. This week it sounds like Andrew Paul answered the bell. I was told that Paul delivered an explosive run — something Kirby Smart said the team did not have in Scrimmage No. 1 — on his way to the end zone. Paul continues to work to prove he’s ready for a bigger role this fall.
